04,

[Filtered to all HUMANS (non-vampire, non-Time Lord, etc); ask if not certain]
We've been out of blood for the beasts for some time, huh? What's to stop us from just not feeding them anymore? Can't we lock them up and just let them starve? They live forever, all right? So there'd be no "death toll" or worry of them coming back. We just lock them up and let them starve like the monsters they are.

Why is everyone treating them like they're some kind of humans, huh? I could say the same about some of the other creatures here too, but they haven't become dangerous yet.

Torture's frowned upon.

It'll breed resentment.

Because they are 'some kind of humans', or they were. Their diet distinguishes them from us perhaps, but they can't help their needs any more than some full humans can help allergies or chronic illness.

And in any case, they are stronger than us, faster than us, and more willing and able to work together than us, considering they're in the minority. Starvation drives creatures to extraordinary feats. I wouldn't want to be you if they caught wind of this suggestion, certainly.

Torture's just part of life, huh? It's not torture if they're not human, all right? It's no different than putting a magnifying glass over an ant.

From who? The vampires? They deserve to die.

I'm, I'm really not comfortable with this idea. I mean, it's not their fault they're vampires, and. Well, by calling them monsters, you're starting on a slipper slope, you know? Like, anyone who's not strictly human could get thrown under that definition and then you're just. Tossing everyone who's different into zero.

howie is tempted, but doesn't comment. damn professionalism.

Most of them were human, once. They've still got sentience if not 'humanity'. An ant has neither of those things.

Maybe they do. Several times over. But we have to live with them in any case, and keeping relations civil is more prudent than giving them something to gripe about and fomenting rebellion.

Shouldn't heul to appease, huh? Hulle uit sy element, klikbek. "Survival of the fittest," huh? I wouldn't help to save zombie and I wouldn't risk my life for someone with broken legs. They aren't propagating our species, huh? If it were up to them, we would be extinct.

You're only making an argument for their extermination, huh?

[identity profile] diamondtherough.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
They're inhuman, all right?

[identity profile] sonotahunter.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Good god, you're as bad as a Hunter. Its nature is opposed to yours, so kill it? I thought you were a businessman, Mr. Archer.

Start thinking like that and...Well. You're already an inmate.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thing is, that's punishing them for what they are - they can't help how they're made, no more than you can help being a human with no powers or abilities bar your lovely accent and strange use of languages.

You can't help that, but you can help what you do with it - and so can they. There's no reason to torture them. None at all.

You going to rescue zombies too, huh? I'm not willing to rescue my life for a man who isn't able to survive himself.

That's where you're wrong, huh? We don't have to lie with them. You've all gotten used to them, like a plague.

Do you have something better then, huh?
