04,

[Filtered to all HUMANS (non-vampire, non-Time Lord, etc); ask if not certain]
We've been out of blood for the beasts for some time, huh? What's to stop us from just not feeding them anymore? Can't we lock them up and just let them starve? They live forever, all right? So there'd be no "death toll" or worry of them coming back. We just lock them up and let them starve like the monsters they are.

Why is everyone treating them like they're some kind of humans, huh? I could say the same about some of the other creatures here too, but they haven't become dangerous yet.

What if it is? Not everyone who's different, my friend. Everyone who's different and dangerous. Their existence is a threat to our own. I won't save any man that's not capable of surviving by himself if required. Take away humans and they can't survive anymore.

Then, by all rights, shouldn't all the inmates be locked up in zero? I mean. There's a case to be made that they're all dangerous, and you can argue that that danger makes them different enough. And, and by that logic, nobody can survive by himself, in a vacuum, not even you. Everyone needs help from at least one other person.

I'm not trying to argue with "no man is an island," all right? But I could survive in my hometown England on my own without killing people.

I can be "redeemed," huh? How do you redeem something that feeds on humans?

But you j- Never mind. Not the point. Which is vampires. But I wouldn't mind arguing that other point some other time, after this is all. You know, dealt with.

...Uh. I don't actually know. But I'm going to uh, go out on a limb here and say that I'm pretty sure the Admiral wouldn't pick irredeemable people, uh. Human or otherwise, to be inmates here. That'd kind of offset the point. Because this place is supposed to be all about rehabilitation, right?

[identity profile] diamondtherough.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ja. Ja, I'd like that, all right? Any time you want to argue as long as you're not going to get mad enough to try to kill me, huh?

I thought it was supposed to be a prison. Dem government sends dem criminals to prison all the time even if they aren't redeemable. Sometimes it's easier than killing them, huh? Besides, you can't think the Admiral is never wrong. That would be foolish at best, huh?

Well, you don't have to worry about that, I mean. An argument is a silly thing to want to kill someone over. ...Not that there's really any good reason to kill anybody.

If it was a prison, then wouldn't all you inmates be locked up? Instead, you all get to walk around, and are relatively free. I mean, besides the whole. Being stuck here, but. ...Well, not never wrong, but. I guess I'd assume he's right some times.

An idealist, huh? I enjoy talking to people like you.

We are locked up, just a little more free-roaming as you say. There a hundred different kinds of prisons. You ever been anywhere outside of your own country? Seen how the otehr places operate, huh?

I try to be. It's hard sometimes, but. You know.

...Yeah. I have. I've traveled quite a bit.

Can't say that I do, my friend. I've never been an idealist. Not with what I've seen.

This prison is not much different from some of those in Africa or the southern Americas. The only real difference is that there's no chance of escape here, all right?
